Location: London, Barking
Organisation: London Borough of Barking and Dagenham
Barking and Dagenham has the most untapped potential for growth in the capital, with excellent accessibility. It will be London’s next big growth story, delivering 50,000 new homes and 20,000 new jobs over the next twenty years. Housing is at the heart of the Borough’s drive to improve the quality of life for residents and to create thriving communities and attractive places where people positively choose to live. The Council’s objective is to ensure that residents can find an affordable and high-quality home at a mix of tenures and prices across the borough.
In 2012, the Council created its own company called Reside as a private sector landlord with a social purpose and community focus. Today, Reside is a significant landlord in the Borough; it has over 800 homes at affordable rent levels and over 70 shared ownership homes on its books. We are committed to being best in class, with further growth plans in place to increase our portfolio to 3,000 homes by commissioning our regeneration company Be First to build the new homes, with the aspiration to enable our homes to be an experience of choice which combine both commercial and social value.
As Managing Director, with strong strategic and innovative leadership in housing, you will support the Board on the successful development and implementation of Reside’s strategic business plan. Through outstanding tenant engagement and commissioning processes you will deliver choice and excellence in services, inspiring a high performing organisation that exceeds the expectations of both residents and stakeholders. Your ambition will be second to none, ensuring Reside remains at the forefront of sector thinking. With strong entrepreneurial flare and commercial acumen, you will optimise funding and income streams to develop the housing portfolio to create social value.
Given the scale of our ambition, your commitment will be underpinned by a strong value base that puts our community - present and future – at the heart of what we are about.
Closing date for applications is Wednesday 28th November 2018
