Location: Harwell (preferred), Warrington
Organisation: Radioactive Waste Management Limited
Creating a safer future by managing radioactive waste effectively, to protect people and the environment.
Waste Management Limited (RWM) has been established to deliver a geological disposal
facility (GDF) and provide solutions for the management of radioactive
waste. This represents a major multi-billion-pound
national infrastructure programme. RWM is a wholly-owned
subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) which is responsible
under the Energy Act 2004, for the clean-up of the UK’s publicly owned civil
nuclear legacy sites including the management of radioactive waste.
We now require a Head of Commercial and Procurement for assuring that commercial, procurement and contract management activities across RWM are optimised in support of our mission and are carried out in conformance with all relevant regulations and with Government Commercial Operating Standards. You will be accountable for developing and delivering RWM’s Commercial approach, Contract management processes and associated Supply Chain Management strategy and for the analysis and management of our procurement and supply chain risks and opportunities. Alongside chairing the RWM Commercial Assurance Group and leading the RWM Procurement team, you will also develop RWM’s supply chain engagement strategy and implement it such that we can develop the required support to enable the delivery of our mission for the GDF and Waste Management Services.
With a background in complex procurement programme delivery and managing contracts throughout their life cycle, in both the public and private sectors, you will play an important role in supporting the development of commercial understanding across RWM, liaising with the NDA Commercial Function as RWM’s Parent Company. Displaying effective and extensive senior leadership skills and behaviours, you will focus on people and competency development as lead for Procurement, Contract Management and Supply Chain, developing a suitable pipeline of commercial talent for the future.
