Planning Manager, Risk and Assurance

Location: Nationwide (we are happy to talk flexible working)
Organisation: Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA)
Reference: NDA006

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), responsible for cleaning up the UK’s earliest nuclear sites safely, securely and cost-effectively with care for people and the environment. Although our mission remains the same, the way in which we organise ourselves is evolving.

Over the last 18 months, part of the strategic direction for the NDA has been to strengthen and simplify the way our Group is organised. We are transforming how we manage some of our businesses to find more effective and efficient ways of providing nuclear clean-up and decommissioning on behalf of the taxpayer. Assurance, risk and internal audit continue to play a key role in providing independent assurance of the organisation’s risk management, governance and internal control processes.

As part of this process, we require a Planning Manager to manage the integrated planning & resourcing of key independent assurance & risk activities across the NDA Group, working closely with the Corporate Centre and associated functions within each Operating Company. Reporting to the Lead Planning & Performance Manager, you will develop and manage the integrity and coverage of the NDA Corporate Centre Group Assurance Plan (GAP) as well as the scheduling of clearly communicable and coherent planning requirements between Corporate Centre Assurance and NDA Group wide stakeholders.

In collaboration with functional teams across the NDA Group, your open and collaborative style of management and communication will help develop insightful planning of management information. You will clearly identify and present potential issues, risks and trends that drive continuous improvement of processes, overcoming uncertainty by creating alignment with organisational and stakeholder needs. Above all, you will contribute to a synergistic environment that enables ownership and improves capabilities to provide assurance.
